Eagle "FSI" I-Beam rods are intended to be a budget-friendly upgrade to O.E. rods. We forge our "FSI" rods from premium 4340 steel. Rod forgings are random spot-checked to ensure alloy consistency so that you know you are getting the best material money can buy for high-strength connecting rods. To help convey the intended application we recommend, an approximate power rating of 700hp is for all applications. All "FSI" rods are bushed for full-floating piston pins. Alignment sleeves are used to precisely position the cap. All standard bolts are 7/16" ARP 8740. ARP 2000 bolts are available at additional cost for most part numbers. The I-Beam design is easy to produce and requires significantly less machining than an H-Beam rod so it is typically less-expensive. Because these rods are commonly used in stroker applications, attention has been paid to the are of the rod that would contact the cam in Chevy small block applications so that adequate cam clearance should exist without the need for a small base-circle cam. While it is impossible to test-fit every cam that exists, it is always best to confirm you have at least .050" clearance between the cam and the connecting rod. Due to the short bolt that's used, improved pan-rail clearance may also be realized. Eagle "FSI" rods are recommended for use in naturally-aspirated competition engines. Eagle "FSI" rods are not legal for use in pollution-controlled vehicles.
